RoomHalo

This policy explains how RoomHalo uses Apple Home information to present and control the rooms and accessories you choose.

Privacy at a glance

RoomHalo is a user interface for Apple Home. The app does not create a separate cloud copy of your home, sell personal information, serve targeted advertising, or track you across apps and websites. RoomHalo’s privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected-data categories.

Apple Home information

With your permission, RoomHalo uses Apple’s HomeKit framework to read the homes, rooms, scenes, accessories, services, characteristics, names, states, and availability already configured in Apple Home. It uses that access to display status and send control commands you initiate, such as adjusting a light, thermostat, fan, lock, scene, shade, or garage door.

Apple controls access to this information through system permission and your Apple Home membership. RoomHalo does not receive your Apple Account password.

Camera streams

When you select a HomeKit camera, RoomHalo requests its live stream through Apple Home. The developer does not receive, record, upload, or retain that video. Availability and access are governed by Apple Home and the camera manufacturer.

Information stored on your device

RoomHalo stores preferences needed to personalize the interface, which may include room visibility and order, chosen accent colors, custom room photos, favorite controls, appearance settings, and the selected home. These settings remain on the device or in Apple-managed app storage.

A limited snapshot of names and current states for favorites, scenes, locks, and garage doors may be stored in the app’s shared container so RoomHalo widgets can display useful status. This information is shared only between RoomHalo and its widget extension on your device.

Widgets and App Intents

If you use RoomHalo widgets, Shortcuts, Siri, or App Intents, Apple may process the request according to Apple’s own privacy terms. RoomHalo uses these features to show status, open the appropriate room, or perform a selected Home command. Some security-sensitive actions may require confirmation, authentication, or opening the app.

Photos

If you choose a custom room image, the system photo picker lets you select that image. RoomHalo uses the selected image for your interface and does not upload it to a developer-operated server.

Purchases

The optional RoomHalo Pro unlock is processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles payment information and purchase history. RoomHalo receives only the product and transaction information required to verify and restore access; it does not receive your full payment-card details.

Analytics, advertising, and third parties

RoomHalo does not include third-party advertising SDKs or developer-operated behavioral analytics. Home accessories and services may be subject to Apple’s and their manufacturers’ privacy policies independently of RoomHalo.

Retention and deletion

You can remove RoomHalo’s local information by deleting the app. You can revoke Apple Home access in system Settings. Removing RoomHalo does not delete the home, accessories, automations, or recordings managed by Apple Home. Purchase history remains with Apple so eligible purchases can be restored.

Security and children

RoomHalo relies on Apple’s platform security and Home permissions. Protect your device passcode and Apple Account, and review who has access to your Apple Home. RoomHalo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as RoomHalo changes. The effective date above will identify the latest version.
